Sperm freezing is a process of preserving the sperm for future use, for artificial insemination or for donation. People usually do this due to medical reasons or social issues.
It is also called sperm banking and Semen cryopreservation.
Today due to different life style one life/generation is unpredictable, there are many ways which will affects one’s future fertility. However due to modern technology, sperm freezing and storage, it is possible to make a complete happy family!
The process:
First the patients have to undergo for a medical test.
The patients are asked to abstain from sexual activity or ejaculation before collection the semen sample. 3 to 7 days is the best time to get a good specimen after the last ejaculation.
Analysis the semen/Semen analysis.
Wash the sperm with washing media.
Take the motile sperm. Then use cryoprotectant or freezing media and keep it in liquid nitrogen.

Storing in liquid nitrogen
Sperm can be froze for many years as long as proper care is done. Some sperm are damage or do not survive while freezing. Success rate for fertility through sperm freezing varies depending on the sperm quality and age of the woman. If IUI (intra-Uterine Inseminations) is not successful, IVF (In Vitro Fertilisation) or ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection) is done.
So far there is no difference in the rate of abnormality or birth defect in children born through frozen sperm and natural/ fresh sperm. However this process can be the saver of one’s progeny?
